What Is Your Mountain?

January 23, 2012

Jesus taught an important parable after He made His way into Jerusalem for Passover. He cleared the temple of the “den of robbers” and then retreated out of the city for the evening as the chief priests were looking for a way to kill Him. The next morning Jesus and His disciples passed the fig tree that Jesus had previously cursed. Peter makes mention of the withered tree. Jesus replies with a huge pronouncement for us all: “ ‘Have faith in God . . . I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, “Go, throw yourself into the sea,” and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him’ ” (Mark 11:22-23).

Did you get it? You have been given the power . . . to move mountains! Your faith in God is so powerful that if you tell a mountain to move, it can be done!

What is your mountain right now? What is standing between you and God? What is standing so tall and so wide that you do not believe you can get around or over it? What is keeping your life from being as “abundant” as God desires it to be? What is keeping you from being victorious? Whatever “it” is, tell it to move! Live in God’s power. God recognizes that you feel like you are on a never-ending merry-go-round; He understands the times when you feel tired, desperate, unfulfilled, lonely, confused, and unsatisfied. Satan knows it too, because he is behind the merry-go-round snickering, thinking “Gotcha!” But God is pleading to you: “There is so much more for you!” God is saying, “Have faith in Me and live victorious in My power!”
