Golden Nuggets of Truth
This morning I am dwelling on all the truths learned from David Jeremiah at the President’s Weekend in Boca Raton, Florida. The last four days have been a blessed time of meeting new friends, learning about the ministry of Turning Point, worshiping with fabulous musicians, and hearing the Word of God. David Jeremiah is my most favorite pastor to listen to and learn from—his biblical teaching always brings clarity to God’s Word, a passion to accomplish the purpose God has for each of us, and a desire to share God’s love with others. I wanted to share a few of the truths he talked about this weekend. These are truly nuggets of gold!
- Faith is believing God and doing what He tells you to do.
- An extraordinary God uses ordinary people with ordinary faith!
- God loves to take you as you are and make you what He wants you to be.
- God takes your weaknesses and makes you strong.
- Faithful people are willing to endure the worst of the world to grasp the best of God.
- You don’t have to be somebody special to be used by God; you just have to be some body.
- Your purpose is to do what God has called you to do—don’t engage in things that pull you away from that.
- You get replenished when you use your gifts for God.
- Run the race that God has set before you. God has a race for each of us—don’t compare your race with somebody else’s.
- How do you keep your eyes on Jesus? Keep your eyes in the Bible! Find the Living Word by reading the written Word.
- Your love for Jesus can be measured by how much you read the Bible.
- Your relationship with Jesus = your relationship with the Bible.
- Don’t be so excited about your memories (the past) that you lose sight of your dreams (your future).
- Run best at the end of the race. Since we don’t know when the end will come, run the best every day!
- Lack of vision makes you settle for whatever happens. Always keep your vision fresh and clear in your mind.
- When you lose sight of your vision (what God wants you to do), you succumb to temptation and sin.
- If you are still alive, then God has something for you to do!
- God only blesses us to be a blessing to others.
- Don’t do something for God that doesn’t cost you anything. You must sacrifice.
- If a message doesn’t work in all cultures, then it doesn’t work. The Bible message works in all cultures; the prosperity gospel does not.
- Be a proclamation ministry: proclaim the Word of God!
Wow. Those are great. I needed a couple of those, so thank you for posting!!
