May 2, 2012

Welcome to “What in the World Wednesday?” where I share my favorite links and posts from around the Web with you! How do you like the new icon? “Made to Fly” by Becca Stanley @ The Stanley Clan

Every woman, I truly believe, deals with being judgmental—about herself. We think we’re not good enough, pretty enough, skinny enough … at least not like so-and-so. However, Becca’s vulnerable post shares that when we do that to ourselves, we “rob the world of something precious: the person God made us to be.” A must, must read!

National Day of Prayer

The 61st annual National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 3. Visit the above link to learn about prayer, what prayer is, the principles of prayer, how to get involved in the NDP, and much more.

“When Complaining Is the Most Spiritual Thing You Can Do”
by Sammy Adebiyi @ How Much Does God Weigh?

Philippians 2:14 says to do everything without complaining. But this pastor found the secret: telling God your weaknesses isn’t complaining—it’s allowing God’s grace to work, knowing that Jesus is enough!

“15 Powerful Things Happy People Do Differently”
by Dana @ Purpose Fairy

How are happy people happy? What makes them different than unhappy people? Well, things like love, trust, responsibility, acceptance. Read all 15 characteristics that make a difference in being happy vs. unhappy.

“10 Gorgeous Buildings Made Out of Books”
by Emily Temple @ Flavor Wire

I love books. L-O-V-E. My night stand is overflowing with them; my bookshelves are overflowing with them; my bank account is depleted because of them! But this takes book-loving to a whole new level: buildings made out of books. From a building of 7,000 recycled phone books to the “Tower of Babel” made with 30,000 books. Very cool!

“Double Decker Taco Cupcakes”
by Christy @ The Girl Who Ate Evrything

Mexican + cupcakes = Taco Cupcakes. That equation means YUM! These are easy to make and delicious!

“Five Days of Cinco de Mayo”
by LeAndra @ Love and Flour

If you love Mexican food and want to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, visit the above link all week for five days of Mexican-food themed recipes, from appetizers and snacks to dinners and dessert.

Duh! I actually do like the design of the green box, but the owl is just so cute and ties into your logo at the top…sorry, Matt!
